Innovation through pixels Conference and Exhibition 2025

by admin
From 12–15 August 2025, we hosted the Digital Weaving: Innovation Through Pixels Conference and Exhibition – a celebration of 30 years since the launch of the TC loom. The Conference gathered weavers and weaving enthusiasts from around the world to exchange knowledge, ideas, and inspiration. Over four days, 29 speakers shared their insights, while 50 artists and designers presented works woven on our looms – demonstrating the remarkable breadth and creativity that digital weaving makes possible today.
Celebrating Three Decades of TC Looms
In 1995, a small Hønefoss-based company, Tronrud Engineering, set out to transform the textile landscape. With the invention of the TC loom, weaving entered a new digital era – one defined by innovation, creativity, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Thirty years later, that pioneering spirit continues to thrive, now carried forward by Tronrud Engineering Moss, which took over loom production in 2020. The Innovation Through Pixels Conference marked this milestone with four days of exchange, exploration, and celebration at the scenic Sundvolden Hotel in Krokkleiva, Norway.
Exhibition and Anniversary Book
The event opened on the August 12, with a curated exhibition of woven works by 50 international artists and designers, all created on TC looms. These works showcased the breadth of artistic expression possible with digital weaving. To commemorate the anniversary, all featured artworks were compiled into a special Anniversary Book, which also includes contributions by Prof. Sarah Mills (San Jose State University, CA) and Norwegian writer and historian Jan Helge Østlund. The book is available for sale for USD 40/ EUR 40 – write to us at dwn@tronrudmoss.no to place an order .
