Digital Weaving Norway visits Swedish Textile Machine Expo!
by admin
From October 13-14, 2022, we were at the Swedish Textile Machine Expo in Borås, Sweden. Being organized for the first time, an initiative by the Swedish School of Textiles (University of Borås), this was a unique meeting place for everyone interested in sustainable textile production!
During the two days at the Expo, Swedish as well as international manufacturers of textile machinery and members of the textile industry gathered to exchange ideas and experiences, with the issue of sustainability in focus.
And one among the many textile-related machinery on display at the Expo, was our very own TC2 loom. This loom belongs to the University of Borås and was brought in to make prototyping and experimentation more direct and intuitive, before moving the files into the industrial setting. The TC2 at the University has 36 modules/ 7920 warp threads!
There were close to 40 exhibitors covering the various kinds of textile manufacturing processes: knitting, printing, weaving, sewing, finishing techniques and the likes. Among the visitors were both big corporations and manufacturing businesses from the Nordic countries. For everyone interested in textile manufacturing, this event presented an opportunity to see the state-of-the-art technology.
