First-Ever TC2 Trainers’ Workshop in Norway

First-Ever TC2 Trainers' Workshop in Norway
by

In the final week of August, five of our European representatives gathered in Norway for a special event: the first-ever TC2 Trainers’ Workshop. This intensive training session was designed to be a technical bootcamp of sorts, providing in-depth training on all things TC2. From troubleshooting and loom hacks to advanced weaving techniques and newly-launched video tutorials, the workshop equipped participants with the knowledge and skills to optimize TC2 performance.

The five representatives attending the Workshop: Katja Huhmarkangas from Finland, Ayse Simsek from the UK, Anita Michaluszko from the Netherlands, Nicoletta Di Gaetano from Italy and Nicole Kiersz from Germany.

During the workshop, the participants immersed themselves in every aspect of loom assembly and also, on how to train the end-users on the loom. Technical troubleshooting and service support were key topics, with a focus on resolving common issues efficiently. We also went through loom hacks — small tricks that can significantly enhance the loom performance.

We also covered advanced weaving techniques to push the creative and technical boundaries of the TC2. We also introduced our new video tutorials to the participants, which are meant to be a key resource for troubleshooting and usage of the loom. These tutorials are aimed at providing both trainers and users accessible, step-by-step guidance.

One of the highlights of the event was a visit to Tronrud Engineering, where the TC2 Loom was originally conceptualized and manufactured until 2021. Production has since moved to Tronrud Engineering Moss, a subsidiary that continues to manufacture the loom. The participants toured both sites, gaining an insight into what went (and goes) into the development of the TC2, and also into the advanced manufacturing processes of TC2.

At our production site in Moss, John Tommy Sørensen, our Loom Assembly Incharge, provided an in-depth briefing on best practices for loom assembly. The visit concluded with an exciting loom assembly competition, where the representatives—split into two teams—successfully assembled the loom in record time!

The workshop also included a visit to Grinaker Vev in Brandbu, a remarkable facility featuring both production and handlooms.

Going forward, these five representatives will play a key role in expanding TC2 support across Europe. Not only will they conduct TC2 Installation and Training Workshops, but they will also actively provide service and customer support in their respective regions. Their expertise, honed during this workshop, ensures that TC2 users will continue to benefit from efficient service and technical assistance.
