Half a year has flown past and what a ride it’s been!
Expansions…
We’ve taken several more TC2s to our existing strongholds and are constantly endeavoring to reach out to newer geographies as well. Very recently, we joined hands with Queen of Raw to further promote and sell our looms in the US!
Their core business is to bring innovative fabrics and sustainable raw materials to a global supply chain across industries through a manageable and profitable process.
There’s also much been happening in-house. DWN got an all-new space within our company premises, making our production, assembly, testing and packaging processes all the more efficient! It also means more room for giving loom demos and conducting training workshops. Come visit us…
A weaving hub…
The Icelandic Textile Center at Blönduós (Iceland) has recently become the international hub of weaving! Why? Probably for a number of reasons, but one is that they have a TC2! (A 3W beauty with 6 modules). Where else can you combine a fantastic nature with quiet, concentrated work on a TC2! Christy Matson has been artist-in-residence at Blönduós all of June, and said that the period has been very productive! Christy is based out of Los Angeles and has a TC2 herself – keep an eye on her website. More pics below…
Textile artist and lecturer Paivi Vaarula has also been at Blönduós this summer and had a quick go on the TC2 loom, after Christy Matson left. She’s posted some fantastic photos of the surroundings on her Facebook page! Here are two pics of textiles woven by her…
Just this week, Cathryn Amidei also stopped by: She was on a family vacation on Iceland, and used the opportunity to check in on the Blönduós TC2, the new member of the TC2 family. In the pic below, you can see Ragga (Ragnheidur Thorsdottir), responsible for the weaving at Blonduos, and Dan (Cathryn’s husband).
We strongly encourage you to go there as well – our bet is that is it going to be a long waiting list to book a time on this TC2! But in the meantime, have a great summer… 🙂
