Digital Weaving: Innovation Through Pixels (Anniversary Book)

by admin
During the Digital Weaving: Innovation Through Pixels Conference that we hosted from 12-15 August, 2025 in Norway, we launched an Anniversary Book, to mark 30 years of the launch of the TC-loom. The book showcases the works of 50 artists and designers from across the world, all woven on the TC-looms. It also features contributions by Prof. Sarah Mills (San Jose State University, CA) and Norwegian writer and historian Jan Helge Østlund.
30 Years of Digital Weaving — Celebrated in Print
This landmark book highlights the 30th Anniversary of TC-loom production in Norway, tracing the remarkable journey of Digital Weaving Norway from its earliest prototypes in the early 1990s to a thriving global movement.
Inside, you’ll find:
A rich history of digital weaving — from the first pioneers to weaving studios spanning the world
Works from 60+ artists and designers, all created on the TC2 loom and showcased at the Anniversary Exhibition in Norway, August 2025
The story of the TC2 loom — how it transformed textile art and opened new creative possibilities
A look at the future — the rise of Makers’ spaces with TC2 looms, where anyone can come and weave
Whether you’re a weaver, textile artist, design enthusiast, or simply curious about the intersection of technology and craft, this beautifully illustrated volume is an inspiring tribute to innovation, community, and the enduring art of weaving.
